Aparthotel Brussels Midi

It’s been over a month since our stay, and the refundable €100 deposit still hasn’t come back. We’ve had no reply to our requests. This is extremely frustrating and disappointing. Please respond and return the deposit right away.

The room was huge, and mine came with a great view. There was a kitchen with full-size appliances, plus a bathroom, living room, and dining table that seats about six. The double bedroom was up on a mezzanine. It’s only a short walk from the train station, and really good value. What a hidden gem.

The apartments are spacious and fairly clean, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful. But you get what you pay for: the rooms are dark and worn, with old furniture that has no style. There were no kitchen utensils, pots, or even a kettle. There was an ironing board but no iron, and only liquid soap for toiletries. The Wi-Fi signal was barely there.

The room itself is clean and modest, but the way the receptionist treated me was shocking and upsetting. She was abrupt and dismissive, with what felt like a “high and mighty” attitude, and refused a simple request for room utilities. When I tried to get clarification, her manner was foul and unprofessional. I can’t understand why the chain of command is so confusing that I can’t resolve this, and that’s the most frustrating part. It’s my first time in Belgium, and I don’t want this to ruin my vacation. The receptionist was a petite brunette, around 45-60 years old. I don’t know whether she plans to quit and is trying to harm the business’s reputation, or whether she owns the business and is unhappy. I can’t assume either. This was a completely disgusting customer service experience, and I won’t book here again. I don’t want to risk being demeaned and insulted like that another time.
