Catalonia Brussels

The location in the heart of Saint-Gilles village was handy, with public transportation and a Carrefour Express within walking distance. We stayed three nights over New Year, in December 2025 and January 2026. I liked that the hotel felt clean and the area seemed safe, but a few things kept it from feeling like a four-star stay. The room had windows that opened for fresh air, a couple of English-language TV channels, and a small mini fridge that came in handy for leftovers. The two twin beds were pushed together, but their mattresses drifted apart and we had to shove them back together a couple of times. There were no comforters, though we found a spare blanket in the closet and I definitely needed it. The deep, curved tub made me feel unsteady getting in and out, like I could slip. The heated towel rack stayed cold even on its highest setting. There was also a traditional bidet, which I found much worse than a modern bidet toilet seat. The elevators were the smallest I've ever seen. I fit in with two large check-in suitcases my husband pushed inside, but he had to take another elevator. I can't imagine a single parent managing luggage and small children without staff help, or someone in a motorized wheelchair fitting in there. One day there was spa water in the lobby, then it disappeared. I've never stayed at a hotel that simply stopped putting out water for guests. The attached restaurant was busy every day we were there. The hotel seems to cater mostly to Spaniards, though the front desk staff speak English.
