Hotel Retro

The elevator squeals whenever it runs, and the sound carries into the rooms all night, so getting a good night's sleep was impossible. The area also felt unsafe to me. Inside, the room was so cramped you had to turn sideways to get around the bed, with no space for luggage, and the online photos were misleading. The floors were filthy, especially beneath the furniture, and there were stains in the bathroom basin. The king bed had a double blanket, which couldn't cover two people through the night. Breakfast on our first morning was only cereal, for 15 euros. Reception staff didn't speak English very well.

I only stayed one night, but the price was very good for what you get. The room was spotless, the bed comfortable, and everything I used, including the AC, shower, and lights, worked properly. The staff were warm, welcoming, and ready to help. I'd definitely recommend it.

The receptionist was so sweet and took time to give me recommendations and explain how everything worked. My room was clean and just right for traveling solo, with fresh linens, a comfy bed, and a great, powerful shower. The only thing that bothered me was the smoke alarm blinking constantly above me, lol. The location might seem sketchy if you're judgmental, but I was happy with the value and enjoyed exploring the beautiful city core. I'll be back, thanks so much!

For the price of a four star hotel, this felt more like hostel quality and definitely wasn't worth it. The rooms are poorly equipped, there were insects in the bathroom, and the whole place had a dodgy vibe. It was really loud at night, both from inside the hotel and outside. The doors only shut if you pull them very hard, and the curtain didn't cover the whole window, so lots of light came in.
