I only stayed long enough to find another hotel. Trains shook the place every 10 minutes, and the whole room felt old, bad, and dirty. There were holes in the curtains and bed, the homemade wardrobe was awful, and the carpet had holes and strange dirt on it. The shower was inside the room near the TV.

The receptionist let a strange man from the street follow us into the hotel and all the way up to our third-floor room. We asked him to protect us, but he just laughed, said something to the man in Arabic, then nodded for him to follow us upstairs. I felt completely unsafe, especially as a woman. The shower was broken, the blankets were dirty and contaminated with excrement, and the wardrobe collapsed when we opened it. There were only Arabic TV channels. Trains passed every ten minutes or so and made the building shake. Never go there, especially if you're a woman.

It's not the best hotel in Brussels, though it isn't the worst either. One nice perk: as a hotel guest, you get your first drink free at the restaurant from the owner or a worker.
