Breakfast was good, and the location was quiet. The room was clean, but rather dark and not very big. Although occupancy was low, we didn’t get the “Superior Room” we’d booked, the one that was meant to have a garden view. The bathroom fan was noisy and kept switching on and off randomly, with no way to control it manually. The whole building smelled of cigarettes.

We’ve stayed at Amylia several times a year for the past seven years and had always been happy with it. The value for money used to be excellent. We booked last September for this year, so we’ll still get the old rates for one more stay in August. After that, we’re done for good. Prices have shot up this year, to more than twice what they used to be, and nothing justifies that. I noticed the website has lowered the new price a little, showing it in bold below the original. Maybe bookings have been disappointing, but even the reduced price is far too high for this B&B. The service hasn’t improved to match the increase, quite the opposite. The view is worse, breakfast used to be much more extensive and is now basic, and the room used to be cleaner. Gert and Silvie are no longer the owners, and the current owner still has a lot of work to do to make these prices feel justified.

The location made it easy to reach both the beach and the town center. We were very satisfied with our stay. The hosts were so friendly, the house was decorated with care, and the rooms were lovely. Breakfast was delicious.
