C-Hotels Continental

I’m usually sceptical of hotel breakfasts, but this one changed my mind. The bread and rolls seemed fresh from a local bakery, the meat and cheese from a local butcher, and there were fresh smoothies and juices from local farmers. As a Flemish “bourgondïer,” I’d say book it. We planned to find a bakery ourselves, but ended up eating breakfast at the hotel every day. The rooms are clean, spacious, and comfortable. The fourth-floor sea view is a bit of a stretch, you can see the water through a narrow gap between two buildings. If your room faces the street, you’ll hear the kusttram below, even on the fourth floor. It generally doesn’t run between midnight and 6am, so it won’t ruin the whole night. The bathroom fan starts automatically around 6:30 and is pretty noisy, but closing the bathroom door at night avoids the problem.

We had an easy to access ground-floor room with a terrace, and it was a good size. The shower can get scalding hot, so take care. Staff were welcoming, and the hotel has good design and a great buffet breakfast with an amazing choice and good quality. It’s well placed for the beach, bars, and restaurants. Highly recommended.

A comfortable room with a large bed, good flat screen TV, water provided, excellent Wi-Fi, and a modern bathroom with a great walk-in shower. Check-in was easy, and the service was very friendly. It’s in a great spot near the front in the town centre, and good value. Recommended.

The sea view was beautiful, and our clean room had air conditioning that worked perfectly. Reception staff were friendly and helpful, and the lobby vending machine came in handy. The hotel is elegant and very well placed, less than 100 meters from the sea, with shops and restaurants nearby. I could hear noise from the street, hallway, and room above, so the sound insulation could be better. The elevator is quite small, and the superior room had no slippers or bathrobe. Having staff around at night would make it feel more comfortable and secure.
