The setting is pretty, though the paths weren’t cleared enough to really walk around. Maybe someone coming from a big city would enjoy it, but we left disappointed. The cabin felt short on privacy, with the toilet and shower in the room, so you need to be very comfortable with whoever you’re sharing it with. The old beds were incredibly uncomfortable, and breakfast was below average: some nice homemade jelly and chocolate spread, but only three tiny precooked rolls for two people. At 180€ a night without breakfast, it absolutely wasn’t worth it. It felt like a joke.

Dinant is within walking distance, but during our stay it felt like a ghost town. Many shops and restaurants seemed not to have survived COVID, and the city looked mostly abandoned. Sad, as I remember it being lovely ten years ago. Around the property, the tracks weren’t maintained, and a fallen tree completely blocked the path at the start. Bring a machete if you want to explore 🤣. The gardener also ran a loud machine for over two hours while we were trying to enjoy a quiet morning. That could have been done in the afternoon. As for the treehouse, it was very old and clearly needed repairs. I wouldn’t take kids there because the fences and deck didn’t seem safe, as shown in the video. It was very dirty too. Spiderwebs wouldn’t bother me in a treehouse, but it was obvious it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The room and beds were so damp it felt like sleeping in a steam room. After the first night, or lack of sleep, I had a bad cough because my lungs get irritated easily in moldy rooms. There was no privacy in either the toilet or shower since both were see-through. Don’t go with someone unless you’re completely comfortable with them seeing, hearing, and smelling your toilet moments. Breakfast was awful. For two people there were three tiny rolls and four little pastries that weren’t baked long enough. The sides seemed reused from previous guests and were unhygienic, to say the least. Senseo coffee pads from Aldi/Lidl were only provided with breakfast at 8:45, so bring your own coffee if you want an early hike. At 10€ per person, what they gave two people was only enough for one, assuming that person could handle the hygiene. Luckily, I brought fruit, muesli, and milk in a plug-in fridge box. There’s no fridge in the room. Two nights were a serious waste of money. I’ve stayed in several treehouses, and this one was far below average. The 180€ per night plus 10€ per person for breakfast was way overpriced. There are much better tree huts in the south of Belgium, cheaper, cleaner, with better service and in a nicer area. I saw other reviews saying similar things and wish I’d read them before going, because they were all true.

We got the smallest and highest cabin in the woods at Moulin de Lisogne, and it was our first time there. We had a lovely stay and weren’t disappointed. The breakfast had fruit, juice, bread, mini pastries, jam, chocolate, cheese, and more. I don’t understand some of the reviews about it. Sadly, the heavy rain and strong winds made the cabin sway a bit. It was stressful, though it didn’t last long. One small issue for my husband and me was the mattress, which was too soft and left us with some back pain in the morning. But breakfast made us forget about that. Thanks for such a calm, relaxing time.

The bedding was perfect, and the shower was a real treat. But despite the lovely weather and heat that week, the cabin was cold and damp, so we had to use a little heat. I’d give the service two stars. Breakfast was disappointing, just a few frozen pastries and barely two Senseo pods, no more. The woman brought it at 8 a.m.; everything shook inside as she walked up, then she called out, “Breakfast is on the table!” A note slipped under the door would have been much better. When you rent a secluded cabin, you want to relax, and this didn’t really work for us.
