Splendid Palace Dinant Hostel

The veranda has a beautiful view. The food took a very long time to arrive, and while it was good, it wasn’t anything special.

The place has a lovely old palace feel, and the manager gave us a very attentive welcome. Rooms were clean, with balconies, great views over the Meuse River and the Citadel, and good hot showers. Meals ordered in were varied and very good, though there’s also the option to cook for yourself. There’s a dishwashing area, a shared fridge, and a microwave, all free to use. The large parking lot is another plus. For us, the location worked especially well: five minutes on foot from both the train station and the city center, with the citadel, cruises, and shops all reachable without a car. It was quiet in the evenings too. The WiFi was super fast, fine for work, streaming, and video calls. The rates are more than 50% lower than hotels downtown, which matters a lot for an association on a tight budget, but it doesn’t feel low-end. There’s plenty of room and flexibility for associations, school trips, and groups with mild disabilities. It’s affordable enough for a stay of several nights. I highly recommend it. Splendid Palace, don’t change a thing!

A great view of the château de Dinant and the Meuse, and the prices are very attractive. It’s a good option for affordable, clean accommodation with fast WiFi. Parking is free, which is useful in the center of Dinant where all the public parking spots are paid.
