Durbuy chalet 65

We’re usually hotel people, but a hotel can’t compare with this cottage. Chalet 65 was spotless, tidy, and so comfortable, and we were amazed by how warm and cozy it felt as soon as we walked in. It had everything we needed, including comfy sofas and an armchair, more than we’d expected. Our September stay was fantastic, and we’ve booked again for December this year. Dear friends, thank you for those wonderful days in your beautiful house!

We stayed with four adults and two children and were completely charmed. The detached chalet was spacious, clean, well looked after, and peaceful among the greenery in Durbuy. Watching birds come to feed on the terrace was lovely. It had everything we needed and extras too: comfortable beds, a kitchenette, bathroom with shower, sitting area, dining tables, and a large terrace. There were also herbs, oil, foil, and plenty of toys for both little ones and adults. We’ll definitely come back, hopefully soon.

We’ll definitely return to chalet 65. Even with the weather against us, we really enjoyed our weekend in Durbuy. The place was neat, the kitchen had more than enough utensils, and the living room was cozy. It’s lovely being right in nature and watching birds come to feed from the sofa. A nice spot to catch your breath.

The owners deserve five stars for being very friendly and doing their best. They responded promptly and courteously when we reported the broken water heater, which we had to reset several times every time we showered. Still, a cottage in this condition shouldn’t be rented, since hot water is essential. The place badly needs maintenance. The window frames were rotten and had large cracks. It was sweltering during our holiday, and the poor insulation made it even hotter and made sleeping difficult. I expect it would be freezing in winter. This was part of why we left early. The Wi-Fi was practically useless and almost never worked. Cleaning by the park’s service was poor too, for example, the refrigerator was still dirty from the previous guests. There’s little to do at the park itself. The pool was cold, and the water cloudy. The holiday park seems more focused on attracting tourists than maintaining the grounds. The setting is beautiful, but the cottage needs a thorough overhaul before it’s ready to rent again.
