The drinks were out of date. We ordered two of the same iced tea, but they were different colors and clearly weren’t good anymore. The tapas plate costs €40 for five small, not very good items. They say it’s good for four people, but only one or two could really eat from it. It was hugely overpriced, the staff were rude, and overall it was a very bad experience. I don’t recommend eating or drinking here.

It was a hot, crowded holiday day in Durbuy, so we picked this hotel restaurant for lunch because the big umbrellas and water mist made the area cooler. The salad was really nice, but the mushrooms on toast were dreadful: a tiny portion, with lukewarm canned mushrooms. The wait person seemed inexperienced, and the food was overpriced for its quality. With the town packed with tourists, though, that wasn’t surprising.

“Red,” was all the sulky young man said when I asked what wine they had. I asked if I could try it, and got a flat “Nope.” So I got back on my bike. Miserable place, really rude staff. Avoid it. There are lovely spots in Durbuy, like La Caleche, where people serve you with a smile.

The prices were over the top, and the young waiter was really rude when we came in to eat. They should fire him on the spot, though they seem to get enough customers not to care. Try the other places, the value and people are better.

The service was excellent, but the restaurant is far too expensive for the quality. We both ordered pricey steaks, and they were chewy, to say the least.
