There’s plenty of room for a group, with lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. We spent a weekend here with ten people and all fit comfortably. The gîte is near Durbuy and has pretty much everything you could need, including a kitchen, BBQ, TV, radio, and ping pong. At around 950 euro for the weekend, it may be a bit pricey, but it’s a classy place for a weekend with friends.

The house has a lovely view and plenty of space, but it’s badly maintained. The dishwasher didn’t work and was held together with ropes. Wi-Fi was either unavailable or kept cutting out, which was a real problem with a group of teenagers. Several handles were broken, one toilet was locked and left a foul smell across the whole first floor, and the thermostatic taps in two bathrooms only gave water that was either scalding hot or ice cold. We’ve been coming to the Ardennes with friends for years, and we’ve never had such poor communication from an owner. We didn’t receive a booking confirmation, and when we arrived nobody was there. The door was simply open, with no instruction booklet anywhere. We reported all the problems to the owner on the day we left and followed up by email, but got no reply. Then, with no communication at all, €400 was taken from our deposit. We sent two more emails and still heard nothing. We’re absolutely unhappy with this property and its owners.
We spent a long weekend in the house with 15 people, adults and teenagers. Durbuy is a beautiful area, and we had a nice weekend together, but we won't book these gites again. The house has a lovely view and a nice location, but it needs a lot of overdue maintenance. The dishwasher didn't work, there was a foul sewer smell on the top floor, the thermostatic taps upstairs didn't work, the Wi-Fi was down more often than it worked, and door handles were hanging half off. At the price we paid, these problems really shouldn't be there. The owner didn't respond to emails or WhatsApp during or after our stay, and seemed not to care about the issues. One more warning for future renters: read the contract carefully. The owner charges €80 per day for utilities such as heating oil and water, then deducts it from the deposit without consulting you.
We loved the pretty rooms and the shared sitting area had enough chairs for our whole group, which made visiting together easy. But there was no hot water. It took at least five calls before the owner did anything, and we couldn't shower until the second evening, so there was no morning shower either. That really could have been handled better.
There were flies all over the kitchen, thousands of them, which was a serious problem. The cottage itself is lovely, roomy, and practical, but it seems to need better upkeep. Some doors were dented and a cupboard was broken.
