Our room was spacious, clean and suited the character of the property. We were on the top floor, and could use the honesty bar to take a drink outside or into the front sitting room. Breakfast was wonderful, and the welcome made us feel completely at home. The owners have restored the Hotel Boutique Shamon with real care. The owner greeted us warmly and was understandably proud of the work. The renovation may not be quite finished, but it’s close, and the building looks lovely outside and even more impressive indoors. The walk to the center takes about 20 minutes along a rather uninspiring road, but there’s a good range of bars and restaurants there. We’d happily return if we’re in the area again.

I always enjoy staying at the Boutique Hotel Shamon. The owners are kind and ready to help, and the breakfasts are great as well. Definitely recommend it.

The service was really good, and we felt welcome throughout. Just keep in mind they stick to the check-in time, so arriving about an hour early won’t get you an early check-in. The hotel is lovely, in a historic building with renovated rooms and Rituals amenities. Sound carries easily between rooms, though, so the acoustics aren’t great.

We had a horrible stay and won’t be back. We chose the place hoping to enjoy the area around Ghent, but spent the whole night trying to turn off the heating and switch on the AC. Whenever we tried to use the AC, the heater seemed to work even harder, and we ended up unable to sleep in a room that was 24 degrees. At checkout we told the owner, who said he couldn’t do anything for us. What a shame.

Windy and Thomas made us feel very well looked after at their lovely, peaceful hotel. They helped arrange our bikes, brought our dinner order up to our room, and served a really nutritious homemade breakfast in the morning. We couldn’t have asked for more, and hope to visit again soon. Thank you so much, Yannik & Lisa.
