ibis budget Gent Centrum Dampoort

The studio was nicely designed, comfortable, and seemed well suited to families. There's a pleasant bar area and secure underground parking, with a bus station close by. I only wish the restaurant had more food choices. Still, I'd stay here again and would like to return to Gent.

The staff were very helpful, and the bar was comfortable and served meals. Breakfast had a good range of choices. The rooms were fine, too. It's handy for getting around: about a five-minute walk to the train station and roughly 15 minutes along a couple of main roads to the town center.

I'm a gold member of ACCOR and wasn't offered the welcome drink. I don't usually have it, but I do expect to be offered one. The room itself was cramped, with a tiny table and two lousy chairs as the only comfortable furniture. There was nowhere to set down my luggage, and the curtains were quite disgustingly stained. The toilet area was so tight I could barely move. I definitely wouldn't stay here again.

The location was good, and it seems to be a fairly new hotel. We drove over from the UK with our bikes and paid 22€ per night for parking. There was a secure place to lock up the bikes. The rooms were compact, with most things available downstairs. There wasn't much food, and they took out the pizza oven while we were there. We skipped breakfast, so I can't comment on it.
