JAM Ghent

Breakfast was good, though it didn't blow us away, and the little outdoor pool was great for the kids. The center is an easy enough distance away. We found it a solid place for a couple of days with the family in lovely Ghent. The rooms are basic but work fine, apart from a few sharp edges.

The 120 euro holding fee at check-in caught me off guard. I wish they'd told me about it a few days ahead. Still, I had a really enjoyable stay and would happily return. The staff were lovely and very helpful, the rooms spacious, and clean towels were provided regularly, which I hadn't expected. It's about a 20-minute walk to the center of Ghent, with lovely routes along the canals and cobbled streets.

JAM is a Belgian Gem 💎 and I'd gladly come back. I stayed on my own in a clean, comfortable room with plenty of space. The staff were lovely, and the breakfast salon was adorable. The food was simple and delicious, just what I needed. I also loved the ceiling-mounted TV, such a wild and clever idea that I might want one at home. An ironing board in the corridor and umbrellas to borrow are lovely thoughtful touches. The location is great. One small thing: I turned off the AC, but there was still some noise, and I heard noises in the corridor too. I think it may have been the wind. Wishing them lots of success in the years ahead.

I spent a whole month here through the Erasmus program and felt very comfortable. The hotel staff were kind and always available. There's a rooftop with a wonderful city view, where you can watch the sunset. I hope to return to Ghent soon. I'd recommend it.
