Smartflats - Central Ghent

The customer service was helpful, and the place looked fairly clean. It’s about a 7-minute walk from the bus station, down an alley that felt scary at night. The WiFi didn’t work.

Our stay at Smartflats in Gent was horrible. The apartment was very, very poor quality. Please do yourself a favor and don’t book there.

I wouldn’t return even if it were free. The room was a disaster, with stained walls and a stained sofa, and there was no TV or Wi-Fi. The bathroom sink and shower were both clogged. There’s no elevator, the stairwell has no lighting, and the towels were left by the entrance. We called ten times and nobody did anything.

At Brabantdam 74 Gent, our apartment for 2 people had a grimy stairwell, a broken lift and no hot water. The shower drain was blocked with hair and who knows what else, and some walls had marks and streaks. The sofa had nasty stains and frayed parts, and the toilet smelled burnt. We got 2 little pillows and a thin duvet, with no bedside reading lights. For 3 days, there were 2 large towels and 2 small ones. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place, so consider yourself warned about this accommodation. I think the communication may be with some kind of chatbot?!
