Westouter is in the Heuvelland region, with the Rode Berg and Zwarte Berg mountains only a short walk away. It's a great area for walks and bike rides, with plenty of nice places to stop and relax along the way. The campsite has several charming spots, so there's plenty of privacy, as well as a lovely flower garden, a lost Citroën RU 23, a swimming pool and a cozy communal indoor area. Everything was neat. We paid €153 for two nights of glamping, with breakfast at €16 per person, but didn't feel the price and quality were in balance. Tent #10 could use some sprucing up and more decoration to make it feel cozy for glamping. Several elastics joining the sleeping tent to the outer tent were worn or missing, the furniture was starting to suffer from moisture, and the lighting wasn't inviting. The bed, though, was very comfortable, and the electric heater on the mattress was wonderful. The bathroom did what it needed to. The shower was wonderful, but the whole bathroom felt outdated. The floor near the door sagged a little, and the switch with the outlet was broken. That didn't seem ideal in a humid space with lots of condensation.

The hosts were so friendly, and breakfast was generous enough to keep us going all day. The setting is wonderfully peaceful, with everything reachable on foot or by bike, though the hills make cycling a bit of a workout. I’m not much of a camper, but this was a really great experience. I’d happily come back with the children and grandchildren; I think they’d love it.

Glamping has made camping possible for me again. I’ve developed a slight disability, so camping the way I used to enjoy it has become quite challenging, and the extra comfort is a real help. The campsite is quiet and well cared for, and the hosts are friendly and ready to help. I’ve stayed several times now, which says a lot about how much I like being here.

We were welcomed so warmly, and the breakfast was both tasty and well prepared. The clean, pleasant tents have comfortable beds, plus the bonus of a private bathroom for each one. It’s a peaceful, beautiful spot, while restaurants and cafes are still close by. A lovely stay.
