Mon Coup de Coeur

The view is lovely, and the house is in a beautiful spot. Parking right outside is handy. Traffic from the road below is easy to hear from the terrace. Inside, the kitchen equipment is basic, and the kitchen, fridge, and extractor hood handles were dirty and sticky. The paid bed linen pack for two people had just one sheet and two pillowcases.

The cottage is in a great location, but the kitchen dishes, cutlery, and cupboards were all dirty, so we had to clean them before using anything. We lost hot water on day three, and it couldn’t be fixed. We were meant to receive a discount, but the host later withdrew the issue without telling us, and no discount came. For the final two of our four days, we couldn’t do dishes or shower. It’s a shame this wasn’t dealt with as promised.

Dogs are allowed for 8 euros per dog per night, and the cottage has a garden and terrace. It’s peaceful, with a lovely view and close to Durbuy and Barvaux. When we arrived, there was a musty smell and the place wasn’t fully clean. The drying rack was partly broken, and some kitchen utensils were broken too. Bring your own towels and bed linen. There are several levels and steps, so it won’t suit everyone. The deposit was 150 euros.

The location is peaceful, with fresh air, and that’s what earns the two stars. Inside, there was nothing at all, not even salt, linen, towels, or toilet paper. As usual, even for a two-day stay, you have to make your own arrangements with the Belgians. Minus three stars for what I found indoors.
