A pleasant route of about 5 km, winding beside a creek and through lovely woods.

It’s a lovely walk from Achouffe, though be ready for a steep climb. We set off from the brewery’s new taproom, with its beautiful oak beams joined by mortise and tenon, then followed the stream beneath the road and past the trout pond. After crossing the river on a wooden bridge, we kept going to where two streams meet, climbed the hill, and took the path back to Achouffe. The famous brewery is home to the well-known “kabouter” beer, too.

I love the wild scenery and all the hiking routes around this little village. It gets busier at weekends, and there are two restaurants with pleasant terraces for a meal. Belgian beer is brewed here and is popular in the region, though I don’t drink beer myself.
