Lucrece and her husband made us feel so welcome, with little cakes waiting when we arrived and beers and water available to buy in the fridge. We travelled by bike and could lock them up safely in a great storage space. Apartment de Paprente in Merkem was comfortable, clean, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was amazing, with lots of fresh produce, cheese, meats, and pastries. The homemade apple juice from the garden was especially good. We had a lovely, relaxing stay.

For cyclists, being able to keep our bikes in a locked garage was ideal, and the couple were so nice. The rooms were up an outside set of steps, with a pleasant seating area outdoors. Beds were comfortable and facilities very good. Breakfast was excellent, with ham, cheese, yoghurt, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, nice bread, and homemade jams. It’s a quiet little town with one proper bar, but a huge selection of Belgian beers, plus a couple of good places to eat on the edge of town. I’d definitely stay here again if I get the chance.******

The people are so warm and sweet, and you’ll find everything you need for a lovely getaway. We’ve booked three times already, and it always feels like coming home. Fantastic!

There’s a large sunny terrace looking out over greenery, and the breakfast is generous with excellent service. Inside, the apartment has a living room, kitchen, and a bedroom with a double bed. See their website for photos.

Our bicycles were stored safely in the garage, and we had a delicious breakfast with homemade products. The hostess was very friendly during our wonderful overnight stay. Highly recommended, we had a great time.
