After our hike, we tried to stop for a meal, but a young employee said they were full even though just two tables were occupied. We waited for the train for the next 30 minutes and didn't see anyone else come in.

We had a big group, and they handled us easily and with real care. The food was great, too. A handy place to stay before heading out on the kayaks.

We got to use the garage for our bikes, and the kids could keep swimming for hours after checkout. The outdoor pool is lovely and warm, with a spot out back where they can splash around without bothering anyone. The staff are relaxed, friendly, and well organised, and were happy to help. Rooms are clean and spacious, the beds are fine, and the showers worked well. They're old and plain, but with service and value this good, that didn't bother me. The restaurant was packed and served tasty local meat and some fish at reasonable prices. There was very little for vegetarians, though. Everything from bookings to receipts was handled on paper, and it worked smoothly. It's a great base for starting a kayak trip and catching the train back. The bus is slower and gets much more crowded.

The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. Meals were the real highlight: breakfast was amazing, and the lunch and evening menu had mostly regional dishes, cooked beautifully and brought out with a smile.

Owners were welcoming, and the rooms were very clean. The hotel sits in a quiet spot near the Lesse river, and its restaurant serves some lovely dishes.
