B&B Le Petit Normand

The welcome was a bright spot. The gentleman who greeted us was kind and attentive, though he seemed to be the only host on site. We stayed two nights at Le Petit Normand in Jalhay, right by the Hoëgne promenade, a lovely natural area for walks. It was very quiet and well placed for enjoying the trail. Our room was clean and spacious, with enough comfort, but the facilities were basic. The property feels old and needs renovation: the bedding is worn, the bathroom is dated, and soundproofing is almost nonexistent. That didn't affect us much since we were the only guests. Breakfast was served at the table and was fine, nothing special, though being able to choose the time was a plus. The information online, both on the website and Booking.com, was a concern. It mentioned a restaurant, fitness center, and an award-winning chef, but the host confirmed no restaurant was open during our stay, and we saw no wellness area. There were only a few old trophies in the dining room, which made the place feel stuck in the past and the online details out of date. It's a pleasant welcome and a very convenient location for the Hoëgne walk, but the facilities and information both need a lot of updating to avoid disappointing guests.
