Adagio hotel

The breakfast was a highlight, with good coffee, fresh fruit, tasty bread and cheese. The beds were comfortable, the shower modern, and the hotel small, clean and nicely kept. Staff were very friendly. The stairs and lift are extremely narrow, so a bulky suitcase would be awkward. We skipped the small garage and found inexpensive green-zone parking a few streets away. The private sauna is €30 for a couple per 90-minute session. We'd stay here again.

The two women at reception made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. They were genuinely kind and polite, and you could see their care for hospitality at breakfast too. There was plenty to pick from, including a fruit salad cut into unusually tiny pieces, something I hadn't seen even at 5+ star hotels. Our room had an office desk and a small table with two chairs, while the bathroom was roomy and had a tub. We had a lovely stay and will definitely come back.

The big drawback is parking. Finding a place overnight, especially in the tourist season, takes a lot of patience and can feel nearly impossible unless you factor a parking ticket into the cost. Otherwise, Hotel Adiago is a small, modern place with most of the usual amenities. The owners and their immediate family run it and go out of their way to look after you. It's just steps from the "zeedijk" and close to Knokke-Heist's shops and restaurants. If you arrive by train, it's a short taxi ride from Knokke and a good place to stay. I've been back several times over the years.

Breakfast was well looked after, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful stay.
