We arrived in heavy rain, and nobody helped with the luggage. Soaked through and with two children, we still waited 15 minutes at reception because the receptionist had to take a call and couldn't hand over the room keys that were already prepared. The ceilings on the third floor are very low. The TV is set up like you'd expect in a two-star hotel, wobbling on a small shelf instead of being fixed to the wall, see picture. Breakfast costs 100€/day for 3 Adults and 2 Small Children, and parking is 30€/day. So far, I'm not too impressed. Let's see how the rest goes.

Breakfast was really good, and the service was nice. The room was another story: the toilet smelled bad and had no sink, the carpet was dirty, and there was nowhere to hang dresses. The amenities felt cheap and useless, and there was a big furniture ad above the bed. Worst of all, management or the owner ignored guests' complaints.

The lobby looks great, and my room was nice, but sound carries badly here. I could hear people walking around upstairs and everyone going past in the corridor. Everything has been refurbished, though it still feels like an old hotel, and to me it's closer to a B&B than a four-star place. Breakfast was incredibly expensive. They also charged for parking without telling me beforehand; if I'd known, I'd have parked on the street.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel is in a great spot. It welcomes you in a luxurious style and feels like a proper four-star hotel. At the bar "La Terrasse du Zoute," the cappuccino is wonderful. They're also known for their Champaign and Caviar.

Lugano hotel was clean, with fresh linens, and they kindly added extra beds for our kids. Parking is pricey, though at least it's available. Breakfast costs a lot too, but children get it for half price.
