Royal III

The apple pie was good, and the cheese baguette came with a nice little salad since there was nothing else in the baguette besides cheese. The menu is pretty limited for vegetarians, with no vegan choices. When I asked, they suggested fish or chicken, so the options I could actually find were the baguette, desserts, and pancakes. Like many places, they don't have outdoor seating in winter.

We spent about 30 euros each for a main and two drinks, which felt fair for a spot right on the waterfront. The toilets were clean, and the staff were very helpful. They don't take bookings, but they let me hold a few tables half an hour before the rest of the family arrived, which was handy after a beach day. Nearly everyone enjoyed their meal. There’s a good range of dishes, though it’s a fairly standard Flemish brasserie menu, and mussels aren’t on offer. Good value for the quality.

Good quality food at a fair price.

We never even got as far as seeing the menu. After we came in and asked for a table, we waited 15 minutes while staff served the tables around us without acknowledging us. I made eye contact with the service staff twice, hoping someone would at least bring us a menu, but nobody did. It felt rude and unfriendly, and I expected better. In the end, we got up and left without a menu or any food. I wouldn't return or recommend the place.
