There’s plenty for kids to enjoy, with play spaces indoors and outside, and a swimming pool in summer. The hotel sits among fields, with a path that’s lovely for a quiet walk. It’s also handy for Brugge and the sea, and the owners are very friendly. Rooms have a simple design, with concrete floors, but they’re clean and comfortable, with a mini fridge. The bathroom is spacious. Tea and coffee supplies are available in the dining area, along with a microwave for heating food. Very much recommended.

The peaceful feel, comfy beds, excellent breakfast, and cozy garden with its heated pool and little zoo made this one of our best hotel stays in a long time. It seems especially suited to a family holiday, with the seaside nearby and plenty of activities around the hotel. I noticed the website also shows family rooms. We were greeted at check-in by the lovely owners, Dries & Florence, and got these neatly designed retro-style keys for our ‘blue room’. The room’s simple, stylish look was exactly to our taste, with lots of attention to detail, and everything still smelled brand new. The manager told us the hotel had been completely stripped and renovated over the past year, and this was its first week open. Lucky timing for us. It was our first visit, so we can’t compare it with how the hotel was before. There’s free, good-quality coffee in the lobby, which was a lovely touch. Who wants a dirty instant coffee machine in the room? I rarely write reviews, but I was so impressed that I had to. Keep it up, we’ll definitely be back soon! Simply Zaelig!

The staff were so friendly and we had a really pleasant stay at the Zaelig hotel. Breakfast was delicious, and the weather cooperated enough for us to enjoy the outdoor pool at the end of the day. My son didn’t want to go home 😂

We spent a weekend at Zaelig hotel, in a quiet area close to Knokke, Damme, and Bruges. The welcoming owners were helpful, and both our room and its design were lovely and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was delicious. The garden and pool look like a lovely spot for a relaxing afternoon overlooking the fields.

We loved Zaelig Hotel enough to come back for a second stay. It’s run by a lovely family who are always happy to help, and the hotel has been completely renovated, so everything feels brand new. The rooms are comfortable, the garden and heated outdoor pool are a treat, and breakfast is delicious, with fresh products. It’s just minutes from Knokke or the Netherlands coast. Dog- and baby-friendly too. What more could we ask? It deserves a 5*. We just hope it stays as it is. We’ll be happy to return soon. Thanks a lot, and well done!
