Soll Cress

The pool was freezing, so we barely used it. My daughter jumped in briefly, then we gave up because it wasn’t fun at all. We still had to pay full price for everyone, including the baby, even though I’ve never seen a baby charged a full ticket elsewhere. The water had been described as lukewarm when I mentioned bringing a baby. We’d come to Soll Cress because the beach hotel where we were staying had no pool and the sea was cold. I was told we could only use the pool if we ate at the restaurant, and that it would cost 10 euros per person. We needed lunch anyway, so we agreed. The portions were tiny, basically side dishes, even though we ordered two small meals because my younger daughter is a baby and didn’t need a dish of her own. My older daughter asked for fried chicken, French fries, and apple mousse, but got fish and chips without the apple mousse. There wasn’t enough food even for a small eight-year-old. I ordered vegetables and potatoes and received a cereal bowl of cooked soup vegetables, just a few thin carrot slices, some cabbage, and a few thin slices of zucchini, plus three potatoes about half a thumb in size. Thankfully, I had cookies to make up for how little we got. Service was slow, despite there being only two other guests in the restaurant. The whole place smelled strange and felt like stepping into another century. Then the POS machine didn’t work. After we’d waited ten minutes and they couldn’t sort it out, I had to pay by entering the IBAN in my banking app. I was glad to get back to our hotel. That was the most stupidly spent 65 euros of my life!
