The owner was very responsive, and the apartment had everything we needed. A few small improvements would help: the area above the bed needs some updating, and the seals on the shower door too. The stairwell is narrow and not well lit on the ground floor. Thanks to the owner for being so helpful.

Apartment 1 was a disaster, and I have to keep this short because I already went too far with my comments. We waited three hours for the key code. The accommodation never replied on Booking.com, even when we wrote in Dutch using a translator. On the phone, they only spoke Dutch and offered no help or solution. We asked the whole neighborhood about the accommodation. In the end, after three hours, a woman at a teahouse gave us the code, not anyone from the accommodation. Our six-year-old daughter had to wait the whole time without being able to unpack, put away luggage, or use a toilet. The accommodation still hasn’t responded to any of my messages. The fridge was left open and wouldn’t close, with ice everywhere, and it had overheated completely, a fire hazard. The mattress was sagging and worn, and the bed was untidy. A door handle was missing. There were glasses with fallen out lying on the desk? The coffee machine had a dirty tray in the bathroom, and the couch wasn’t clean. One window wouldn’t open, the air conditioning remote barely worked, and blankets and pillows were jumbled in the middle of the closet next to the fire extinguisher. After a long wait, we left and rebooked without getting any information about the room’s condition. More calls and messages, including through Booking, went unanswered. Booking told us that reimbursement, even partial, had been refused. There was no cooperation, information, or apology, and the full amount was charged. Stay away from this place. The lady refuses to communicate. I later spoke again with the friendly employee at the Teahouse. What a cheek. The main thing is getting the money, while there’s no sign of maintenance. The pictures say it all. Thanks for the disappointment, all those calls with Booking, and the extra costs, Ms. Boudt!

The room was clean and bright, and close to the beach and grocery stores. But I was napping in my underwear when the owner opened the door for some reason. So much for privacy. At night, a group of intellectually challenged young people shout in the street. If you’re hoping for a good night’s sleep, forget it.

The owner was very kind and helpful, even while he was at a wedding, and still took time to sort out the small problem I had. The suite was superb, spotless, and had everything I needed, all at a very reasonable price. Thanks again to him.
