The only part of the stay I enjoyed was breakfast. The rooms felt like a different hotel from the lobby: downstairs looked modern and polished, but upstairs felt worn out, budget and unpleasant. We first booked The Market by Park Hotel, but after arriving exhausted around midnight, we mistakenly walked into Park Hotel. The lobby looked lovely, so once we realized the mistake, we asked the man at reception what it would cost to stay there instead. He said €40 per night, which seemed fair, and we agreed. At checkout, the bill had an extra €177, directly contradicting what we’d been told. Trying to get it sorted was a nightmare. In my experience, the woman at the front desk was the rudest hotel staff member I’ve dealt with. She was dismissive, sarcastic, and unprofessional, and made us feel like a bother whenever we asked anything. The misleading charges and her aggressively rude service made this one of my worst hotel stays. I’d never stay here again.

The train station is just around the corner, and the city is compact, with plenty of restaurants around the hotel. The food in the restaurant was tasty. At Christmas, the lobby is nicely decorated and feels homey, and the service was good. The rooms felt a little cold to me, and there was construction underway. The rooms are all due to be restored in the future. The Christmas market is also open from 14.12, so go visit. Thanks for hosting us. Definitely the best hotel in Kortrijk.

The rooms were spacious, and everything was clean and nice. There was a strange smell in the corridor, not unpleasant exactly, but kind of like sheep’s wool. I could barely find the elevator since there wasn’t a sign for it.

When we came back from the spa, our room door was open. The hotel was very dirty, and we paid 200 euros per night. Bathrobes and slippers had to be bought separately, and the floor was dirty and slippery. The pool water was very muddy, too. The atmosphere was terrible, and its location near the train station speaks for itself. I definitely don’t recommend this hotel.

Nice place in a good spot next to the train station. Breakfast was fine, but there was too much sugar and cake. More cheese, please.
