Breakfast had fresh-baked goods and great coffee, with the charm of a family-run business. In summer there’s an outdoor patio, and they rent scooters. The owners are friendly and helpful, the beds are good, there’s plenty of hot water and ample parking. It’s quiet in the evenings, and without traffic Ypres and Menin gate are about a 15-minute drive. There’s free parking outside the gate. An excellent place to stay.

The rooms felt spotless and almost new, which surprised us when we learned the place had already been open for 13 years. We had a great meal made with fresh local food, and there’s a fantastic selection of Belgian craft beers. Families are well catered for too, with a big garden terrace, swings, and a trampoline. It made a lovely stop on our trip from the UK to The Ardennes, and a great base for seeing the local monuments. The owners have made something special of the old town hall. We’ll be back 🍻

Our son was happily occupied with all the toys, so it’s a really kid-friendly B&B. The host and owner gave us a warm welcome, and we enjoyed the delicious food and beer. The room was very clean and the bed comfortable. I’d definitely return and recommend staying here.

We were well placed for Ypres/Ieper and Menin Gate, and they had dinner ready for us after the 8pm Last Post. The hosts were great, and the old town hall has been renovated wonderfully. The food was the best meal of our six-week trip through seven countries. A menu-reading mishap meant snails arrived by the half dozen instead of chicken wings, either way. There’s a huge beer selection, including some very local ones. The staff spoke excellent English, and also French or German if Flemish isn’t your thing, probably other languages too.
