It was peaceful out in the countryside, but getting to Brussels for day trips was too much of a trek. The room itself felt more like a youth hostel, with dated, dusty furniture and decor. I’d booked and paid through a major booking site for an ensuite bathroom, but there wasn’t one, and I was still charged the full price. The bathrooms and kitchenette were outside the rooms.

We were only there for one night, and it was a really nice stay. Breakfast came with homemade bread, garden fruit jam, and apple juice. A quiet B&B in a handy location. Thanks!

The welcome was so warm, and I loved staying at Le Charnois. My sister booked it for me. I’m Estère, from Benin in West Africa, and the setting was beautiful, welcoming, and peaceful. Everything felt discreet, with no noise at all. 😀

The hosts were very welcoming, and the property was just as described. I’d happily come back soon. It’s quiet, too, but keep in mind it’s on the edge of Ottignies and a long way from Louvain-la-Neuve. Getting there takes some thought if you’re visiting the university town, so check the route and compare it with your usual travel options. Walking or cycling takes a good level of fitness. The Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve station is also too far to walk from with luggage, and it isn’t the Louvain-la-Neuve station.
