Hotel De Vossemeren by Center Parcs

The park and surroundings are really nice, and we could have spent a few days there, especially with children. Good weather would make it even better. But we left a day early because it was hard to relax in the old cottage, which just didn’t feel restful. The website photos make it look better than it is, and the prices are pretty high. We wouldn’t go back.

Our son is only 2, and there were loads of fun activities for him. We all loved it, our best family holiday so far! The food in every restaurant was amazing and not too expensive. I’d really recommend the à la card arrangement, and booking dinners ahead, since space may be limited when the parc is full.

The cottage was clean, but it gets too hot, so bring a fan for each bedroom. You also have to buy bed linen and duvet covers for non vip cottages. The food across the restaurants was the best we’ve had at other locations. The park and activities suited our older teenagers better. De Vossemeren is one of the best centre parcs we’ve visited in 13 years.

Hiring bikes makes getting between the accommodation and activities much quicker and adds to the fun. The pool is fantastic for children and teenagers, with slides and rapids to keep them busy. On our last visit, Monkey Splash was closed during the school holidays, and there didn’t seem to be much urgency about reopening it, which was disappointing. The pool is still excellent overall. We’ve visited Center Parcs De Vossemeren many times over the years, and it remains one of our favourites. We usually book the comfortable, well-appointed VIP cottage, which has a sauna. The fresh bread or croissants that used to be delivered in the morning are no longer included, which feels a little penny-pinching at that price. The cottages can be a bit worn, with occasional knocks and scuffs, though the accommodation standard is very good overall. There’s a Samsung TV in the living area, handy for mirroring from a phone or tablet. Restaurants are average to good, and I’d recommend the Italian one. Restaurant prices and the supermarket and food market are quite expensive. We still have a great time here. A strong 4 stars from us.
