Van Der Valk Hotel Brussels Airport

We liked the view from the room, the comfortable bed and the good parking area. The free airport shuttle was very convenient. But the fixed 24°C temperature throughout the hotel, including the bedroom, was far too warm for sleeping. Our room had no window, which made the nights especially uncomfortable. The toilet didn't seem properly cleaned, and its door had no lock. With three adults sharing the room, that was awkward and meant taking extra care. We could also hear a lot of noise from other rooms because ours wasn't soundproof. The hotel has some strong points and potential, but temperature control, cleanliness and privacy need work for a more comfortable stay.

A classy, business-style hotel, with a large, extremely clean room. The covered parking is useful, and the in-house restaurant has a refined menu at very reasonable prices.

Our team dinner for 12 was made cozy and intimate, with lovely decorations, a great atmosphere and a perfect private room. The colleague who speaks Spanish and some Polish patiently took lots of photos of us. Thank you, too, to those who found tables for us at short notice more than once, and the person who found the missing soda fridge key. Jonathan was always helpful, and once let me store my sushi with a smile and a joke. I also noticed the colleagues who checked on the spotlight in my room. One person even joked that closing time had arrived by playing with the lights, and handled it with humor and professionalism. I've stayed at Van der Valk many times for business, and the whole team has made me feel welcome each time. Reception greets me with a smile and helpful attitude, even when busy, which makes arriving after a long day much easier. At the bar, I hope Pedro's hand is healing well. Franchesco, thank you for being so friendly and calm, even when things are busy. Finding out it was your birthday during one visit was a lovely surprise. André, your warm, steady manner helps make the bar and restaurant comfortable. And to the colleague who brought me a little bowl of pepper sauce at lunch just because I asked, thank you for the thoughtful gesture. Jilvani, apologies if I've spelled that wrong, and the Head manager were attentive and professional. Kevin, thank you for your friendly, helpful service. I also remember the colleague with beautiful curly hair who told us your mother worked there too. Such a sweet moment. The kitchen team deserves a big thank you. The food is carefully prepared, looks beautiful and tastes just as good. To the person who cooks the lamb perfectly every time, thank you. The morning omelettes are some of the best I've had, and the cook remembered me on my second day, which meant a lot. And of course, Mario. Your experience and pride in your work come through in everything. You're always welcoming, attentive and service-minded, and that makes a real difference. To everyone, including those whose names I don't remember, thank you for so many memorable stays. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year ❤️

There were long waits everywhere, from check-in and breakfast to the elevator. The air conditioning wasn't enough, shower pressure was so low it made bathing difficult, and the breakfast was tasteless. They use a deposit system and won't let you leave before checking the room. There was no do not disturb sign, and even when I asked, they refused to bring one. The hotel was nicely decorated, though. The wallpapers and tropical animal details were really cute.
