The breakfast was good, though basic, and nobody cleaned our small apartment after the first night. We were there for a cycling weekend at L‘Esprit Sain, in a first-floor room in the hotel’s second house, with a kiosk right next door. People gathered there at night, so it got loud. The room was big enough for our very clean road bikes, so we brought them inside. At checkout, they charged us 40€ for two nights for the bikes, saying they had to do extra cleaning. That’s ridiculous. My shoes had more contact with the floor than the tires did.

For the 2022 F1 Grand Prix in Spa, we found Vincent and his crew wonderful. They provided a top-notch room, restaurant and shuttle service. Vincent knew all the secret/private routes to the track, so the trip there and back took only 10 minutes. Thanks, we’ll definitely return.

I just stopped in for lunch and had great food with great service. The meat was excellent and the fries tasted best of all. Most sauces are made in house, and the white sangria tasted like summer despite the cloudy day.

The food was fabulous, and the owner made the visit even more memorable. We explained that we were in Malmedy because of our father’s service in WW11. He was incredibly kind, thanked our father for serving, and suggested the Battle of the bulge museum, a local hop fest, and a chocolate store. We loved all his recommendations. When we passed the next night, he waved to us from the window.
