We had a brilliant three-night stay. The restaurant was fantastic and reasonably priced, and the waiters were patient and kind about our limited French. The staff also handled a medical emergency brilliantly. The heated indoor pool and hot tub were nice, and we especially enjoyed the outdoor pool on sunny days. The customer service was the best we’ve ever experienced at a hotel.

The fire alarm in our building went off at midnight, and nobody seemed to know how to turn it off. That was a very unpleasant part of the stay. The room was mostly clean, though the toilet area had noticeable dust. Dinner at the restaurant was not bad, but breakfast was mediocre. Even with those issues, we liked the cabin and the resort’s well-kept facilities and pleasant surroundings. I’d consider coming back for those.

Malmedy is close enough to walk to, so getting groceries is easy and there’s no need to drive. The area is very quiet, with wooded hills and some lovely walking and cycling routes. It’s a peaceful, remote spot, though phone reception is very weak or nonexistent.

The forest setting is wonderfully secluded, with a bike path right there and nature all around. My room was small but just right, and the bathroom was huge. I loved the indoor pool and steam room. The hot tub could have been hotter, though. The staff were excellent.

This was around our sixth stay, which probably says how much we like coming back. The lodges we’ve used before are well equipped and work well for small groups. This time we stayed in The Loft. It’s a good size, although another sink would be useful. The food in the restaurant is good, and the staff are helpful and friendly, especially at the bar.
