We loved the charming grounds, and the owner shared the history of the place and his family, who have been there for five generations. Breakfast was delicious, too. Our room, the old stable, was gorgeous, with high brick ceilings, a luxurious bathroom, and a small kitchen. The bed was comfortable, and after a long day of touring, that deep, welcoming claw-foot tub was just what we needed. We were on a European adventure, and this was a great addition to the trip. It’s just outside town, with parking and Wi-Fi. The owners live onsite if you need help, and even though we arrived late, check-in was easy. We absolutely loved our stay!

Breakfast was amazing, with freshly squeezed orange juice, several kinds of bread, and an egg cooked the way I liked it. It’s in the countryside, yet only within 10 kilometers of Brussels, so it worked well for business or pleasure. The hosts were so friendly and made me feel at home. Exquisite place to stay. I’ll definitely come back!

We were very disappointed. We’d booked well ahead, on 11 March 2019, because we wanted the special ground-floor “DeLuxe Suite” for our American friends, along with a “Suite” for us. When we arrived on 11 May, neither room was available. Our friends were put in a studio upstairs in the new section, and we got a standard room on the first floor with no view, just a high skylight, and a toilet without a door. We were given a €14.50 discount, but that doesn’t come close to matching the difference between a large suite and a standard room. We had made a detour to this B&B while travelling from Mechelen to Watou, excited to give our friends that distinctive suite opposite the breakfast entrance. One of them had broken her back six weeks earlier and wore special metal braces, so stairs were very difficult for her. What a shame.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet had plenty to choose from. My room was clean and nice, with a quaint, old-fashioned feel. I’ll stay here again next time I’m in the area.
