Rust aan de kust

The house is in a very quiet spot, and the weather made our stay quite pleasant. Still, the place wasn't what we'd expected from the website photos, which seem out of date. The email said the beds would be made and the house cleaned, but there was sand on the floor, lots of dirty marks, and greasy traces on the microwave. The fridge and freezer looked awful too, with ice cream left by the previous guests, preferably still in its packaging. It didn't seem like much cleaning had been done. We cleaned everything ourselves when we arrived, and even after two weeks it looked better than it had at the start. The games were a mess as well. None of the board games were complete, and bits of puzzles and games were scattered all over the house. It was almost an escape room. We also kept the children off the swing and trampoline. The swing was crooked and looked ready to collapse, as did the big garden table, and the trampoline net had so many holes it was like a sieve.

A lovely, quiet place, and you hardly need to pack: towels are provided and the beds are made when you arrive. There's loads for the kids too, including books, puzzles, games, a Wii console, sjotterke, and more. The one downside is that they stopped collecting Colruyt orders after corona, so you have to pick them up yourself. It's about a fifteen-minute drive from here, in Middelkerke. Aside from that, I'd definitely recommend it.

Everything's provided in this house, from the kitchen to the bathroom, and children of all ages have been thought of too. Highly recommend it.

A great spot for a family weekend, with the beach only about a 20-minute walk away.
