The layout has a couple of small drawbacks: one of the two bedrooms has no door and opens onto the stairs, and you have to pass through it to get to the other bedroom. You can hear people downstairs, so early risers might wake you. The double beds are made from two single mattresses, which is handy in some ways, though you feel the gap if you like sleeping close together. Still, we had a very pleasant stay, and I’d recommend it and come back if I’m in the area. The owner doesn’t speak French or English, but using a translator worked fine. The well-kept house and garden are in a lovely setting. There are two ponies, fresh eggs, and plenty to do, from board games and foosball indoors to a trampoline, slide, swings, bikes, pedal cars, and scooters outside. There’s a hammock, barbecue, fire pit, two outdoor tables, loungers, and a rocking chair as well. The beds are comfortable, especially the pillows and duvets. Sheets are available for a fee; bath towels and tea towels are provided, though the bath towels were a bit small for my taste. Cooking and dining basics are all there, including a stovetop, oven, fridge, and dishwasher, but only salt and pepper for seasoning. There’s also a washing machine, laundry basket, hairdryer, and a timed electric bathroom heater. Mosquito nets are fitted to the windows. The toilet is downstairs, with none upstairs.
