B&B HOTEL Mons Gare

The room was clean and comfortable, and the hotel was quiet. Its location is ideal if you arrive in Mons by train, and secure parking is available. I also appreciated the encouragement to be eco-friendly during my stay. The real highlight, though, was the front desk team: Pablo, Alysa, Anais, and the charming young woman whose name I didn’t get, you know who you are. They helped with several issues unrelated to the hotel and were friendly and informative. After long days out, their warm greetings made it feel like coming home. My sincere thanks to everyone working the desk at all hours. They made my visit especially pleasant, and I’d definitely stay again.

The team were efficient, thoughtful and very good. I didn’t try breakfast, but it looked great. The hotel is brilliantly placed by one of the most incredible architectural train stations in the world, in my opinion, near the cathedral and half an hour from Van Gogh’s house. Looks like maintenance is under way. There were burn marks on the floor, which was odd, and marks on the corridor carpet. Highly recommend.

A decent choice for a night in Mons. The room was clean, and the bed comfortable. We had plenty of free street parking nearby over the weekend, though the hotel also offers secure parking behind the building for €15 a day. Our room faced the street, and the windows didn’t block the sound, so we heard traffic and people talking all night. The windows need upgrading so guests can get a good night’s sleep.

The bed was comfortable and the location was great, but for the high price I’m not sure this was worth it. The fourth-floor hallway smelled bad. Although the sheets were clean, the floor was dusty and hadn’t been washed; it wasn’t cleaned the next day when they made the bed either. You need slippers or your socks and feet get dirty. The Wi-Fi was so poor that it was unusable for work. The hallway and floor hygiene really needs attention, and I think the cleaning staff should be spoken to.
