The rooms are charming and high-ceilinged, with heavy curtains that make them completely dark, and the double mattresses were the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Meals were delicious, made mainly with fresh ingredients from the large gardens, and the service, presentation, and attention to dietary needs all felt carefully handled. There's a warm, peaceful family atmosphere and the service is very professional. It also works well for small company meetings or team-building, and it's well placed for cycling, walks, or trips around the country. 100% recommended!

The rooms are beautiful and quiet, and we were welcomed with tea by a blazing fire in the downstairs sitting room. The owners then treated us to wonderful home-cooked food, much of it from the garden. The whole medieval farmstead, arranged around a central courtyard, has been lovingly and skillfully restored to a high standard, with original oak and pen joints. It’s a pleasure just to wander through the buildings and the extensive gardens, including the vegetable plot and orchard. We’d love to return to de Kerckhem for a family reunion, since a weekend with a group would be perfect there.

Fresh flowers everywhere, vegetables from the garden on the plate, and a fireplace to relax beside. The food was wonderful, served in a one-of-a-kind setting, and the rooms let you catch up on weeks of lost sleep. I don't think I've experienced a place with a better atmosphere. Perfect!

A great spot for a quiet break. The family running this small hotel, or big B&B, are lovely, and the food is marvelous!
