De Promenade

The location is very good, close to the center, and the little fridge was a bonus. Still, the room was dim and had very few power outlets. There was no terrace, so we had to eat indoors and make do, with nothing really provided. We heard a lot of noise from the neighbors, and the B&B welcome was rather cool. We didn't see the owner at all during our stay.

We didn't come away with fond memories of our stay. There was no welcome, and the room badly needs renovation: it was dark, had no ventilation, a non-working electrical outlet, and very wrinkled bedding. The bathroom had no sink plug and the shower leaked. Soundproofing was nonexistent, so we could hear conversations and the TV until midnight. The Wi-Fi code was barely readable, scribbled on a torn piece of paper; a typed, laminated note on the wall would have helped. There was no information about restaurants or local attractions either. We had pre-ordered two breakfasts at €15 each, which felt a bit expensive. They weren't served on-site, and nobody told us where to go. Breakfast only starts at 9 am, which was too late for us since we had an appointment at 9:30, so we couldn't have it.

The room was very dark, and noise carried in from the other rooms. On the plus side, you're right in the center. When we arrived, they didn't know about our reservation, so it was lucky I had the email with me. We didn't speak any Dutch, had to pay in cash, and weren't given proof of payment. I should have asked them to put it in writing.

We only stayed one night, which was a shame because we got such a fantastic welcome. We'll definitely return!
