A really awful place. The coffee tasted like watered-down brown liquid, and the waiter was very rude. The menu said the pancakes were fresh, but they were cold and mushy, as if heated in a microwave. They made us pay before serving us. I went once and won’t be back.

Breakfast was upsetting too, with a woman beside us putting her dog on the table, its mouth right on the surface. As for our stay, we paid 165 euro for one night, not a last-minute deal, and the double room with a lateral sea view was tiny. There was hardly 20 CM between the bed and the window, and the shower door only opened halfway because the toilet was right next to it. When we asked whether all the rooms were that small, the receptionist said we’d just had bad luck since it was the last room available. There was no offer of a partial refund or any other compensation. It really wasn’t worth it.

The brasserie is a no from me. I’ve never had Irish coffee service that bad.

The beach is ridiculously beautiful, and there’s room for long walks with the dogs, who are made very welcome. It made for a very happy dog-friendly holiday. The hotel is fabulous and right on the beach. One thing that bothered us was the breakfast buffet: it was hectic, with used cups stacked on clean ones and milk cartons left open around the coffee and tea stations. If you bring your dogs to breakfast, there’s a calmer area to sit, though you still have to make your way through the noisy buffet. And if you want to enjoy the beach without room service disturbing you, bring a small dustpan and brush for the sand 😅, so you don’t track it around.

We were shocked when the receptionist shut the elevator door on us and our dog. She had been inside for about 20 seconds while we waited, watching us call the dog over, then said, “she doesn't want to be in the same elevator as a dog.” This was a “pet friendly hotel,” supposedly. The customer service at the restaurant was awful too. We asked if we could get some cooked chicken. No answer at first, then an eye roll and a turn away. Two minutes later we got a grumpy “only what's on the menu.” Our room smelled bad from the start. At first it was like a dog, though not ours 😅, and several times a day there was a really nasty smell coming from the sink drain. There was no privacy in the toilet either: the door wouldn’t close, and we had to keep the very dark curtains drawn or people at the hotel across the street could see us using the toilet or showering. The receptionist had seemed in a bad mood when we first arrived, but that hadn’t spoiled our anticipation of a long weekend. There was no room service when we got back one evening. The towels had been changed, but that was all. The next day we found out why: the cleaning staff were two very young boys who seemed overwhelmed. Breakfast was another disappointment. There were two breakfast rooms, both totally overcrowded, and staff couldn’t keep the buffet stocked. It felt like the owners were mainly concerned with money. Since we had our dog, we weren’t actually staying in the hotel, but across the street in what seemed to be converted flats. We can only advise against breakfast.
