Hotel Bero

The bedroom itself was great, and the reception staff were always pleasant, but we paid extra for a “better standard” room and the bathroom extractor fan and heated towel rail didn’t work. We stayed several days and reported both problems, yet nobody bothered to fix them. Management seems contemptuous of its customers. I’d like to know how they’d feel using cold, wet towels in the evening. Disgraceful. The hotel also asked for a lot of personal information during its mandatory check-in. To me, that seemed suspicious and unnecessary.

It was really noisy. People worked on the adjacent building all afternoon, then started drilling at 6:20 AM with lots of noise. I hardly slept.

The breakfast was banging. The room could use some renovation and more sockets, but it’s alright if you just need somewhere to sleep during a quick beach getaway.

Getting around is easy from here: you’re right in the city centre and the sea is just as close. The wellness area was only partly usable, though what I could use was what I expected. Breakfast had plenty of options, with several breads but no rolls; only one coffee machine was working and it served standard coffee. The vending machines also didn’t contain what their labels promised. Service at breakfast was lacking, with no greeting or offer of help. Some rooms are very dated, and several things in mine were dirty or didn’t work. I only got a spotless room after I complained. Those faults shouldn’t happen in a four-star hotel, so I’m giving it three stars.
