Hotel De Hofkamers

The buffet breakfast is excellent. It’s a boutique-style hotel in what looks like a 1960s or 1970s building, but the standards are contemporary. The older building has its limits, including just one elevator, though it also gives the place character and a good vibe.

Another wonderful stay at this gem. The staff are all so friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very clean and well stocked. Breakfast was great, with champagne. Parking nearby is easy.

It’s a cosy hotel right in the city centre, with everything close by. The street felt a bit scary at night, and parking is about a five-minute walk away since you can’t leave the car in front for long. Our street-facing room wasn’t noisy, so we slept just fine. It was a decent size, though not especially spacious. The carpets smelled like sweaty feet every time we entered, even just after checking in, and could do with replacing. The bathroom was tiny, especially around the toilet, where you have to squeeze between the wall and the bathtub screen. Still, it was a nice hotel, and I’d recommend it for a budget stay.

The bed was very comfortable and I rested well, though the room itself was small. The bathroom was even smaller, and the breakfast was standard. When I arrived, the room was freezing, with the outside temperature below zero and the radiator switched off. The next day the radiator was left on at half power, but the window was open for ventilation, so it was cold again. The bathroom ventilation was terribly noisy.
