Hotel Mercure Oostende

My wife and I had booked a double room with breakfast included, but when we went down to eat the next morning, a woman told us we weren’t entitled to breakfast. She asked which room we were in. I’d forgotten the number and guessed it might be 218, and she quickly seemed to think we were secretly staying at the hotel. She went to reception to report that we weren’t guests, even though I’d already given her my name and they had our registration details. Reception checked and confirmed I was entitled to breakfast, but nobody apologized for the embarrassing accusation. We couldn’t even have coffee there, and that same day my wife and I took our suitcase and left. I didn’t dispute the paid daily rate, but the experience left me totally disappointed. I usually stay at Mercure hotels, and I wouldn’t recommend this one to anyone.

The lift is small, and the rooms are standard, with tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, and a safe. I thought the bathroom products were very good. The hotel is right at the edge of the center by the casino, and the beach is a two-minute walk away. There was a view from the window.

The rooms were super clean, the location in the city center was beautiful, and breakfast was amazing. The service was perfect, and the hotel employees were very polite and helpful.

Comfortable rooms and a great choice at the breakfast buffet. The hotel is well placed near Ostende beach and the nightlife.
