We had to change rooms three times in three days and two nights after complaining. Every room was too small, outdated and dirty, with stained carpets in the rooms and hallways. There was mold by the wardrobe and bed, a leaking toilet left the towel soaked, and the faucet dripped. The bathroom had a folding door. Parking in the garage was a disaster: no lights, a long search for a space, and €30 for two nights. An absolute mess. It doesn’t deserve a single star. Never again, stay away!

The hotel’s been fully renovated and has a new name, Monarc. It looks beautiful now and is definitely worth a stay. Search for Hotel Monarc Oostende.

We stayed from July 23rd to July 26th, 2014, and the place didn’t look like the photos. The rooms were very old, the bed was uncomfortable, and noise was an issue. The stained carpet throughout the room was especially bad for anyone with allergies. The shower was dirty, with little hot water, a hard-to-open accordion door and a curtain marked with mold. Reception wasn’t very friendly, and they didn’t want to pay the price. Breakfast was the only decent part. The towels had holes and smelled bad. Very, very disappointing.

I live next door, and the information needs correcting. The hotel has a new name, Hotel Monarc, and it’s been completely renovated. It’s worth a visit.
