Hotel Louisa

The location was great, though parking was a pain. We paid €30 for overnight parking. The hotel seemed all right for families with kids, and the price was very decent, but room 33, the family room we booked for four, was nasty. There was hair in the bathtub, holes in the walls, lamps hanging upside down, and it was just plain dirty. I wouldn’t advise looking behind a bed. We were wary of putting our things on the floor because the room didn’t feel clean. Please clean rooms properly before renting them out, that’s basic. The bed was so bouncy my kid called it that, then found it too soft when he tried to sleep. He weighs 45 pounds, so I can only imagine how it would feel for an adult. If you like a very soft bed, fine, but for bigger people it could be a backbreaker.

We’d gladly stay again. The location is fairly central in Ostend, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It’s a great option on a limited budget. The room was basic but adequate, and the staff were excellent and very willing to help. We were glad we chose the breakfast option, there was a great selection.

My budget room was small, but it had everything I needed. The hotel is a little old, though it was clean, and the service was very friendly and respectful. Breakfast should start earlier, 08.00u is too late for a lot of people.

A good-value, cheerful place to use as a base in central Ostende, though the rooms feel dated and could do with an overhaul. We booked two single beds through booking.com, but got a double, and the staff didn’t seem to know about the request. It wasn’t a problem for us, but it’s probably best to tell them before you arrive. We got in late, and the hotel made it easy by leaving instructions for access after 8:30pm. Earplugs were provided, and we needed them because the seagulls never seemed to stop. Nice enough for a stay at these prices, just don’t expect the Ritz!
