The city-centre location is good, but the interior wasn’t what we’d hoped for. The house itself may be old, but that’s not what I mean by unclean. It just hadn’t been properly cleaned when we arrived. There was hair in the bathtub, crumbs across the carpet and in the fridge, and old cucumber in the dishwasher. Most doors don’t close properly, some floor tiles are loose, so watch your step, and there’s mould on a lot of the walls. A couple of years ago, this place was probably really cool.

The heating was the worst part of our two-night stay. It stopped around 11 pm on the first night and didn’t come back until about 8 the next morning. The house dropped to 14-15 Celsius degrees overnight, and I caught a cold. When we contacted the owners, they said it was normal for it to be a little colder at night and that they’d fix it, but nothing really changed. We’d booked the whole house, then got a message saying sheets and towels weren’t included unless we paid extra. That wasn’t mentioned in the suite description, house rules, or booking policies. The house is also in bad shape, with cracks, water marks on the walls, mould in the bathroom, and dust everywhere. Worst experience ever. I can’t recommend it.

Right in the heart of Ostend, with the beach, train station, and shops all a 5-10 minute walk away. The house is simply furnished but has charm.

Everything felt very old, and it was clear nothing had been invested in it. It wasn't clean either, and the place didn't look like the photos. I wouldn't buy it again.
