Hotel Panorama

The reception staff treated me rudely. I waited 20 minutes at the bar for an orange juice while they saw me and kept serving other people. They were smiling and helpful with other nationalities, but rude to English people. I saw the same behaviour toward other British guests. The hotel is very dated and smells damp. Furniture was broken, and I found blood on my bedding. They told me to sleep in the next bed instead, with no apology. Everything seemed like too much effort for them, with lots of sighing and rudeness, even though I’m easy-going, friendly, and laid-back. Avoid this place. They don’t deserve the business. This is just a brief account.

We spent three nights here while visiting local friends. Johan welcomed us at reception from the start, and was helpful and sociable throughout. The hotel isn’t the most modern, but it makes up for that with comfort. The room was basic, clean, and comfortable, as was the rest of the place. We and our friends had dinner at the hotel restaurant on our second night, and it was excellent. Our friends arranged another dinner there for our last night, which was very good too. The restaurant staff, Ronald and 'Noot', along with Johan, couldn’t have been more helpful. We all had a good evening, and our local friends say they’ll be back for more meals soon. Well done Hotel Panorama for making our stay a good one.

The best part was the lovely man dressed in black, who worked very hard to make our stay a little better. A couple of staff members were nice, but others were not good at all, and there weren’t enough staff. The hotel is tired and needs rebuilding and modernisation. In our room, there weren’t enough electrical outlets, the door lock was poor and broken, and the balcony was noisy. The corridors were very dark, the public toilet looked like it was from 1970, and the restaurant floor felt unstable and worn. Outside was very messy and unkempt, with maintenance lacking.

I stayed six nights and wanted somewhere a little tucked away. It was quiet and peaceful, surrounded by trees, and especially convenient for Beclinic, which was one of the main reasons I booked. The staff are wonderful, kind, considerate, helpful, and professional. Joham is an absolute legend, thank you for looking after us so well. Else is a friendly, welcoming lady, and Note from the bar and restaurant is so friendly and interesting, a real credit to the hotel. They couldn’t do enough for us. I was given extra pillows and a kettle in my room. The food is first class. I’d recommend this hotel completely and would stay again. Thank you, Joham, Note, and Else, for a wonderful stay. 😊
