The hotel arranged breakfast at the time we needed it, and both mornings it was great. Dinner was good too. The guest chef cooked superbly, then came over after the meal to chat with us about the food in a friendly way. I was in the area for business with colleagues, and we all had a great stay. The staff were warm and chatty while staying professional. Our rooms were beautifully decorated, excellent quality, and had incredibly comfortable beds. The lounge was well furnished, with several tables and comfortable armchairs. I’d happily come back. Great food, fantastic rooms, and brilliant staff, 10 out of 10.

This place is a renovated, spacious former home, and our family of three stayed in its largest room. It was modern, immaculate, and very roomy. Out back it was quiet and peaceful, and our whole stay felt completely relaxing. The owners were warm and accommodating, and both the husband and wife spoke fluent English. Check-in was easygoing and informal, nothing like the big hotels. There are nice dining facilities, though we didn’t eat there. We’ll stay again on our next visit.

We were only there for one night, but really enjoyed it. The owners made us feel welcome, and the hotel was very clean, with modern bedrooms and lovely décor. I was too unwell to have breakfast, so they kindly sent my husband back with a tray for our room. Would recommend!

Villa Tilia, Portuguese for lime flower, is a lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of Retie, a small village in northern Belgium. You can stay overnight, or just come by for breakfast or brunch. In summer, the terrace is a nice place for coffee and cake, with a view of the old pastor house and the gardens. The owners are welcoming and want you to have a good experience. We had a fantastic brunch today. Thank you so much!

I’m reviewing the restaurant. We ate outside and had a beautiful view. The staff were amazingly nice, and dogs are allowed.
