B&B 't Hof van Spiere

The rooms themselves were lovely and kept in good shape. The owners, though, were unpleasant throughout, and there were a lot of problems with the practical arrangements. Breakfast was called continental, but for €15 it was just two eggs and a packet of cereal. A packet of coffee could cost €40, and contract terms were changed too. Confetti was banned with a €100 penalty, yet even simple glitter could lead to extra charges despite following the rule. Payment conditions shifted during the stay: cash became compulsory, with cancellation threatened, and the security deposit had to be paid by bank transfer. VAT had first been described as included, then was demanded after signing, again with cancellation threatened. Deposit refunds took as long as 15 days and sometimes came back short, with no clear explanation.

The setting is beautiful and wonderfully quiet. The suite feels fit for a prince and princess, and the whirlpool bath was a lovely surprise. A Corneille rug finishes the décor just right. Breakfast is fit for a king. La Cour d'Espierres certainly lives up to its name.

The rooms were comfortable and really nice, and breakfast was delicious. The owners were extremely friendly. It's a lovely renovated farmhouse in a peaceful, very pleasant setting. A top-notch place!

The view stretches out over the fields, and everything around the place feels natural and quiet. We booked the "Akkerwinde" because it came with a kitchen. The room was spotless and huge, with an enormous kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. We also booked the small spa, which was incredibly clean, and the whirlpool was a real treat. The owners were very friendly and helpful. A great choice for cyclists and hikers, or anyone after some peace and quiet in nature.
